The Oshman Family JCC (OFJCC) is producing a narrated performance of the classic children's symphony Peter and the Wolf. Composed by Russian composer Sergey Prokofiev, the OFJCC will offer four performances in four languages, English, Hebrew, Russian and Mandarin, on February 10, 2013.

San Francisco Ballet assistant conductor maestro Ming Luke conducts a chamber orchestra, and children will learn of the different instruments that represent the animals in the story. The concerts will be held at the OFJCC's Schultz Cultural Hall and four narrators will be announced at a later date.

Recognizing the many cultures represented throughout the Bay Area, the OFJCC decided to perform this beloved children's classic in four languages to reach out to the broad, multi-cultural community.

"Many of our members come from multicultural and, of course, multilingual backgrounds" says Ronit Widmann-Levy, Director of Arts and Culture at the Oshman Family JCC. "We are striving to create an inclusive program that families can enjoy together, while bringing new audiences to our wonderful array of performing arts programs."

For attendees, the performance won't be the only highlight of the day. An animal mask-making workshop and an instrument "petting zoo" await children before and after the show. Experience the joys of music, cultural arts and community with your entire family on February 10, 2013.
