This month, the Pioneer Theater celebrates all things macabre, perverted, and absurd with screenings of classic horror flicks such as tonight's showing of The Haunted Palace (1963), a Roger Corman-directed adaptation of an H.P. Lovecraft story, starring none other than the king of creeps himself, Vincent Price. More freshly birthed celluloid depictions of the demented such as the porno gross-out XXXorcist and the sexploitation shocker Bikini Bloodbath, should leave you howling at the moon or needing a cold shower. Capping off this month of chills is a screening of Squirm (1976) which will be attended by director Jeff Lieberman. Pizza, lesbian vampires, and flesh-eating worms — can Halloween be year-round, please? (GM)
