Shakespearean mischief underneath a canopy of stars

Following a successful debut in 2010, WildRumpuS return in quintessential Sydney-springtime style with the open air production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream transforms the Belvedere Amphitheatre into the whimsical Athenian forest every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout November for four consecutive weekends.
WildRumpuS invites you to let your imagination delight in the enchanting Centennial Parklands.
“Similar to the young lovers in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, who flee to the forest to escape their burdens, we invite audiences to escape the daily grind and come along and enjoy Shakespeare’s most popular comedy in one of Sydney’s most beautiful surrounds,” said Director Tony Cogin. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a magical tale – Shakespearean tomfoolery and romance at its most delightful”.

Directed by Tony Cogin, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies. The story follows the knotty web of love and lust between four young Athenian lovers on the eve of the enchanted Midsummer. The lovers take flight to the nearby forest in an attempt to solve their romantic woes but their relationships and love become even more muddled when the roguish forest sprites and a troupe of amateur actors become involved.

Bring along a picnic rug, nibbles and drinks and join in the ethereal mischief underneath the canopy of stars and magically lit flora of Centennial Park.
