"A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM"
Theatricum's signature production returns to
delight audiences in the Topanga woods.

New: Dine with fairies every Thursday night in August.

The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum brings back its award-winning, signature production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, an audience favorite set against an enchanted forest backdrop unrivaled by any other theater - because it's the real thing. The most magical outdoor setting in Los Angeles is once again transformed into an enchanted fairy forest June 7-28 and August 7-September 1
In a place of enchantment inhabited by lovers both fairy and human, three worlds collide: the unrequited loves of Demetrius, Lysander, Hermia and Helena; a rehearsal of the Pyramus and Thisby legend by a group of Rustics; and the domestic troubles in the land of the fairies. Shakespeare's powerful language evokes a brilliant world of wonder, magic and romance, where confusions are resolved and all is reconciled through midsummer night revelries and faith in the power of nature.
New this season, Theatricum introduces "A Midsummer Night's Feast" dinners every Thursday in August. The Greek-themed buffet meal (with a costumed cast of fairies in attendance) begins at 6:30 pm in the theater's adjacent gardens, followed by an 8:00 pm performance.
On Monday night, June 30 from 7-9 pm, playgoers will have a chance to explore the language and themes of A Midsummer Night's Dream more deeply and intimately with director Melora Marshall and members of the cast. The evening is part of a new event series called Herta's Roundtables; with all proceeds from the separate admission fee going to benefit the Herta Ware Scholarship Fund.
A Midsummer Night's Dream runs Saturdays at 4 pm on June 7, 14, 21 & 28 and Thursdays at 8 pm on August 7, 14, 21 & 28. There is one Sunday performance at 7:30 pm on August 24, and a special Labor Day performance on Monday, September 1 at 6:00 pm.
Tickets are $20.00 (upper tier) and $28.00 (lower tier); seniors, students, Iraq War Veterans, and members of Equity pay only $15 and $20; children ages 5-12 are $8; children under 5 are free. Thursday night "Midsummer Night's Fete" buffet dinners on August 7, 14, 21 & 28 are $40 for adults and $15 for children under 12 and include a ticket to the performance; advance reservations required. Audiences at the Saturday, June 28 performance are invited to participate in a pre-show discussion beginning at 3 pm. A Herta's Roundtable Discussion takes place on Monday, June 30 from 7-9pm (separate $15.00 admission fee to benefit the Herta Ware Scholarship Fund).
