Helena loves Demetrius, Demetrius loves Hermia, Hermia loves Lysander
The course of true love never did run smooth…

“My vision is that the strangely related states of dream and reality should become briefly and inseparably intertwined and confused resulting in a creation of the surreal. Ordinary things take on new meanings in the dream-space and beig invested with imagination turn fantastical. In such a world – the world of theatre itself- reality becomes warped and renewed by the magic of belief and we play out before a willingly transported audience the beautiful illusions that make us what we are,” said Director Tama Matheson.

In the ancient city of Athens, on the magical eve of Midsummer unfolds the messy web of forbidden love.
The determined Hermia flees from her father’s house to elope with her beloved beau, Lysander; the predatory Demetrius closely follows in the hope that he may be able to steal Hermia’s affections for himself; and the forlorn Helena follows Demetrius in the hope that her unrequited love for him may be returned.

Lost in the labyrinth of the dark of the Athenian woods, the confused lovers are thrust further into confusion as they are caught in the sensual and sorcerous crossfire of the forest sprites.
