"The poem comes in the form of a blessing- 'like rapture breaking on the mind, '" wrote the late Stanley Kunitz in the the introduction to Passing Through. When Mr. Kunitz died on 14 May 2006, at 100, he left a legacy of creative endurance and an impassioned committment to the preservation of poetry. Please join Mr. Kunitz's family, friends, and fellow poets in a tribute. This event is presented in association with the Academy of American Poets, Poets' House, the Poetry Society of America, and the NYU Creative Writing Program. This is a free event.
