This artist has become a Heartland institution, bringing his quirky humor
over the Canadian border each January. He's an impressive guitar
wizard, at home in any genre from the lowdown blues to
liquid-lightning fingerpicking al la Chet Atkins. This artist has won the
Canadian Country Music Association's "Guitar Player of the Year" 6
times. As one of Canada's most sought after sidemen, he's played with
Gordon Lightfoot, Vance Gilbert, Shania Twain, Patty Loveless, Sylvia
Tyson and The Dixie Chicks.

But the brilliant guitar work is only half of W.'s talents. His
own writing reveals a very, very funny man with a devastatingly
pointed sense of humor. His take on bad drivers, oversexed boaters,
fiddles and Christmas songs will leave you gasping for breath because
you can't laugh that hard and breathe at the some time. Just ask
anyone who saw him last year - you can tell who they are because
they're still laughing.

This is one of the few Heartland shows where we do not recommend
bringing your kids, Wendell's humor can be a bit risque for the
younger set.
