Weslie Webster sings “Send in the Clowns” as glamorous actress Desirée Armfeldt, and Jason Ross portrays distinguished lawyer Fredrik Egerman, Desirée’s former lover. The third corner of this romantic triangle is Britt Hancock (seen earlier this year in the National Tour of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE), who returns to play the dashing Count Carl-Magnus, a dragoon who is Desirée’s current paramour and resents Fredrik’s history with her. Adding to the flirtation, romance and risqué events of the story are Nicole Begué as Anne, Fredrik’s 18-year-old trophy wife and tenor Gregory Pendzick as Fredrik’s 19-year-old son Henrik, a passionate but troubled young man who is of surprising interest to his new stepmother. Lauren Marshall is Carl-Magnus’s stoic and long-suffering wife Charlotte and veteran actress Carol Irvin portrays the wise grandmother (and former demimonde) Madame Armfeldt.
At the heart of the show is a quintet of singers (Daniel Black, Quinn Cason, Leila Nelson, Lindy Pendzick and guest artist Brenda Frye) who lead us on a waltz of flirtation and romance…and offer some wry observations about life. Rounding out this talented cast is Nicole Bowles as the earthy and flirtatious maid Petra, Michael Ruff as Mme. Armfeldt’s butler, and Tori Cannon and Makayla Moore as Desirée’s precocious daughter
