Toronto, Ontario M9A 3J9

On Saturday, February 12, 2011 come share the warmth of A Light in Mid Winter, a neighbourhood parade moving through the heart of Etobicoke.

Proudly part of the City of Toronto's Winterlicious program, A Light In Mid Winter is a neighbourhood parade that celebrates the residents of the Mabelle community and their incredible stories of migration. Along with music provided by musicians from around the world, theatre and a feast that features bread made in Mabelle's own outdoor oven, the parade presents a wonderful opportunity for all Torontonians to join together to honour their own lives, stories and hopes.

Please come join our parade, celebrate the diverse beauty of our city and enjoy a winter feast at Montgomery's Inn - February 12th, 5:00pm starting at Mabelle Park.

MABELLEarts will debut a short film about Mabelle's outdoor bread-making adventures - you don't want to miss it.

In association with Arts Etobicoke, pre-parade workshops are taking place now and each week leading up to the event. Open to the public, the workshops provide free instruction on puppet-making, prop-making, theatre and more.

Other community arts partners involved with A Light In Mid Winter include Jumblies Theatre, Arts4All and Making Room.

Mabelle is a high-density Toronto Community Housing complex that is home to over 2000 people, many of whom are new immigrants from all over the world.

MABELLEarts has been bringing beauty to the neighbourhood since 2008.
