See two of the films that put Polish director Andrzej Wajda on the map of global cinema.

A Generation is the first in what came to be called Wajda's "War Trilogy." It focuses on an aimless young man in Nazi-occupied Warsaw who finds purpose (and romance) within the resistance, echoing the director's own experiences. (83 mins., 35mm)

The first film about the Warsaw Uprising (and the second in Wajda's "War Trilogy"), Kanal is a harrowingly tragic tale of the last hours in the lives of a group of resistance fighters as they take refuge in the sewer canals of Warsaw. It won the special jury prize at Cannes. (98 mins., 35mm)
