A Cinco De Mayo Celebration! May 2, 2010

San Miguel will welcome students, families, community members and local performers to the 4th Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration, a celebration of culture, family and community.

This family friendly event will be held at the Back of the Yards Campus, on the lawn at the corner of 48th and Damen, and will feature food, games, and performances by The South Shore Drill Team, Back of the Yards Balet Folklorico, Nahui Ollin, and the Holy Cross Marimba Ensemble.

This celebration will be an opportunity for the local community to celebrate the cultural history of Cinco de Mayo. Cost of admission is free, and drink and food tickets will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit San Miguel’s scholarship program.

In return for your valuable sponsorship, a banner of your company will hang leading up to and during the event. We are also arranging for our celebration to be covered by by both Spanish and English language media, local news, and print. As in years past, we are expecting over three hundred attendees throughout the day.
