A Celebration of Life!

Come out and join us to celebrate the Thai culture through art, music, food and dance, while supporting a worthy cause.

San Francisco cityscape artist Veerakeat, the office of Mayor Gavin Newsom, and the Thai Association of Northern California have joined together to create the 1st Annual Celebration of Life event uniting the San Franciscan and Thai communities to benefit survivors of the Tsunami disaster in Thailand. Celebration of Life plans to raise $100,000 for a new Children’s Center in the villages of Khao Lak and Baan Nam Kaem, which were almost completely destroyed by the Tsunami, leaving thousands homeless and orphaned.

Celebration of Life is the result of the generosity of local artist Veerakeat who is donating 30 of his original paintings from his private collection to be sold at auction to raise funds for rebuilding Thailand. Veerakeat is one of the most highly regarded painters of San Francisco and has won wide acclaim for his paintings of the color and the light of San Francisco and his ability to capture the edgy energy of the city.
Live Music and entertainment will be a delightful mixture of two distinct and colorful cultures, San Franciscan and Thai: The Lesbian Gay Chorus and Gay Men's Chorus of San Francisco, Conspiracy of Beards male acapella group, Thai Music and Dance from Wat Buddanusorn, plus Muay Thai Kickboxing and much more. With our Mistresses of Ceremonies "The Living Dolls"--Diane Merlino and Liz Matthews -- who will delight you with their sassy style.

In addition Traditional Thai Massage practitioners will offer massages to guests for donations. Plus authentic Thai cuisine and refreshments generously donated by local Thai restaurants.
