Eat Local Now! announces their 8th annual fundraising dinner to celebrate the local food economy. This vibrant and successful fundraising dinner celebrates the cultivation of our local food economy from farmer to family and is a sell-out event every year.

Eat Local Now! is now part of National Food Day, which advocates for access to healthy, sustainably grown foods for everyone and protecting the environment by reforming factory farms, curbing junk food marketing to kids and supporting fair conditions to food and farm workers. The celebration includes dinner, speakers active in the local food movement, exhibitors, a silent auction, live music and a kids' corner throughout the evening.

The star attraction is fresh local food prepared by Herban Feast's award winning chef Dalis Chea. Locally and sustainably produced beer, wine and fresh cider will be available at a cash bar. Other organizations involved in our local food economy will have information at the event about purchasing locally as well as growing your own food.

Sustainable West Seattle, CoolMom, Herban Feast and The Seattle Good Business Network are sponsoring the 8th Annual Eat Local Now! dinner at Herban Feast's Sodo Park venue on October 24. The evening includes dinner, speakers active in the local food movement, exhibitors, a silent auction and music. Eat Local Now! encourages participation in local food systems and food equality. While celebrating a resilient local food economy and Pacific Northwest cuisine, we'll examine how to manage our homes and make wise decisions about what sustainable, practical, healthy food choices are available to us.

The Jeff Fairhall Local Food Hero Award will be presented at the event to a person working to promote local food in the community. Local Food Heroes can be nominated by completing the nomination form by September 23rd.
