7th Annual South Lake Union Block Party August 12, 2011

Don’t miss one of Seattle’s hottest summertime celebrations – the South Lake Union Block Party! As always, the free event will feature a full day of outdoor summertime fun and entertainment for all ages. You’ll meet new and familiar faces from South Lake Union and beyond while enjoying music, mouth-watering food from local neighborhood eateries and a farmers market, a beer garden, wine tasting, kids activities/playground, burger grilling competition, an outdoor movie and more!

- Whole Foods Market Burger Grilling Competition featuring Brave Horse Tavern, Lunchbox Laboratory, Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar, and Whole Foods Market
- “Soul Wine Tasting” inside the Discovery Center, featuring various regions and wines (additional details forthcoming)
- Pyramid Breweries Beer Garden
- Fun games and activities for kids throughout the day
- Food sampling and food vendors from local eateries
- Outdoor movie starting at dusk (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)

Proceeds from this year’s SLU Block Party and Cinema on the Lawn will benefit YouthCare and FareStart. These two nonprofit organizations both provide vital community services in Seattle, and they also have a unique partnership with each other that emphasizes collaboration and synergy that South Lake Union itself illustrates.
