WHERE to MEET at 11:30am in the far right waterfront corner of field #5 Robert Moses
We begin by taking the boardwalk approximately one mile to the lighthouse from the Robert Moses Parking lot field #5, and then take a guided tour of the Lighthouse. There are 192 steps to climb from the bottom to the top of the lighthouse, but its well worth it! The view from the tower top is always amazing. After our guided tour of the Fire Island Lighthouse if the weather is nice, we will continue to walk another mile on the sand to Kismit beach to have lunch. Pack a lunch or buy lunch at Kismit Beach Approximately 5 miles walking round trip + stair climbing at the lighthouse. DRESS in LAYERS boardwalk is open and windy sometimes, wear HAT or HOOD, GLOVES and SCARF to stay warm, can peel off a layer if you warm up walking.
