The Lark Theater cares about the future of filmmaking and they are investing in the creative talents of our youth. See the creations of young auteurs on the big screen at the Larks popular 6th annual Youth Film Festival. This is a competitive festival with two age categories, 10-13 and 14-18. Film Categories are: Narrative, Documentary, Music & Green Theme and running time is 11 minutes or under. Twenty-nine films have been selected for the festival this year.
The Youth Film Festival is garnering a National reputation. This year films were submitted from student all over the Bay Area and beyond: Oakland, Auburn, Elk Grove, Arroyo Grande, San Francisco, Petaluma, Sebastopol, Santa Rosa, and out of state from Indiana, Baltimore, Boston and New York City.

Marin youth have lots of competitive entires too: Alex Herz of Larkspur and student at Hall Middle School returns this year with his film "Roadkill." Nicole Fischer, a recent Redwood High graduate, has submitted her film “I am Robot” and Spencer Cross of Tamiscal High entered his film “Circular Motion.” Jeffrey Liu of Ross has high hopes for his film as does Joseph Osborn of San Rafael.
