6th Annual Neutral Zone Breakin' Curfew May 8, 2009

Somewhere between the hyper-energy inducing Glow Stick Dancers routine at the introduction, and the comedic folk served up by Johnny Colorado and the Beaver Brown Band, the sold out Power Center audience during the 6th annual performance of Breakin’ Curfew will fully realize the tremendous burgeoning teenage talent that Southeastern Michigan has to offer.

The show, which is proudly presented by the Neutral Zone and the University Musical Society (UMS), is consistently the most anticipated performance of the year, with good reason. Happening on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 8 p.m., Breakin’ Curfew is offering its most diverse variety of talent yet. From Bhangra dancers and an indie rock band with a female vocalist, to a jazz-rap blend, comedians and a big band, you surely will not want to miss this fusion of youthful passion, cadence, and creativity.

Since beginning to organize the concert at the start of the school year, the 100% teenage curator staff from the Neutral Zone has been diligently working with and learning from the best in performing arts, courtesy of the University Musical Society’s top of the line personnel. Guided by UMS assistance, workshops, and a common passion for great music, dance, and poetry, Ann Arbor’s teens have created simply one of the most extraordinary and memorable Breakin’ Curfew shows yet! It is the proud product of a truly unique and powerful collaboration of minds, young and old.
