555 Arts: Celebration / Fundraiser / Auction May 5, 2005

One night: May 5, 2005: 8:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.
Silent auction will take place from 8:30 - 10:00 p.m.

Musical guests perform throughout the evening including:
- Electronic hip-hop modern jazz of Low End
- Spanish rock by bogotáimport
- The African dance
- Poetry of Tene Dismunk
- Hip hop jazz fusion by Houseshoes
- The techno/electro music of Edwin
- The sounds of djs Tone and Tony Olivero.

Works of art have been donated by artists who have shown with 555 and will be on exhibit and available for purchase through silent auction. Participating artists include Cathy Barry, Dan Gay, Paula Izydorek, Sheila Palkoski, Barbara Neri, Jennifer A. Paull, Jacob Montelongo Martinez and Nicole Parker.

By supporting this event, you will enable 555 to achieve its goal of raising $2,500, which will go directly towards the renovation of its galleries and studios, including acoustics for the main performance gallery.

In addition, 25% of all proceeds from the benefit will go to assist 555's neighbor, Bridge to the Future, with its student summer programs. Bridge to the Future, a not-for-profit, operates out of 4731 Gallery on Grand River. These programs benefit students by giving them artistic opportunities and helping them form bonds with the neighborhood that 555 and Bridge to the Future call home, the edge of the historic Woodbridge district.
