This class will focus on learning to paint a portrait from life. The instructor will be going over composition, drawing, likeness, organizing your palette, color mixing, value, edges, and producing a completed portrait. This will consist of one and two day costumed or semi-nude poses. Students can work in any media. Instructor will be working in oil.

Instructor: Sean Cheetham

Sean Cheetham was born in 1977. He has a Bachelor of Fine Art degree with honors from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. He exhibited his work in 2005 at the Portrait Award National Portrait Gallery in London, England. In 2006 Sean had his first one man exhibition with The Mendenhall Sobieski Gallery in Pasadena. Sean has become recognized as one of the most acclaimed young figurative painters today! He was also recently featured in American Artist's Workshop magazine, with a tutorial article. He has taught at LAAFA as a member of our Studio Sessions faculty in the past and now as part of our Visiting Artist Workshops program.
