Erzsébet Körút 43-49
Budapest, Budapest

On behalf of the International Scientific Committee and the Hungarian Local Organizing Committee I would like to invite you to the 4th Central European Congress of Surgery to be held in Budapest between 27-30 April 2011.

The fundamental thought that brought about this meeting is still highly relevant. Surgeons from Central-European countries – except for Austria as the only western one – face similar concerns and difficulties. Characteristic problems in structural transformation and financing evolved in all Eastern block countries during the interim period following the collapse of the socialist system. Therefore this meeting is an excellent forum to share our ideas for possible solutions and utilize our Austrian friends experience in this regard, who can deeply empathize with us due to the common cultural and historical roots.

This meeting also serves as an excellent platform to discuss our scientific results, assess the strengths and weaknesses of each individual countries of the region and devise a common strategy of active participation and leadership in the surgical science in Europe.

Academic standard is the most important – but not the only – factor of a congress. Social events as integral parts of a scientific meeting can significantly contribute and create a truly memorable atmosphere, as well. We certainly wish to live up to high expectations with Hungarian hospitality that we are proud of. A combination of Hungarian kitchen, wines and equestrian traditions will hopefully provide an unforgettable memory for all participants.

Therefore, we kindly invite you all to visit Hungary April next year, on the week right after Eastern.
