MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER
Volunteer for Relay For Life

(Los Angeles--April 6, 2004) You can make a difference in the fight against cancer by volunteering for the American Cancer Society's 3rd Annual Baldwin Hills Relay For Life. From 5 p.m. on Friday, August 20 until 5 p.m. Saturday, August 21, more than 1000 residents of Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, Inglewood and surrounding communities will take turns walking or running around a track to raise funds for cancer research, community education, legislative advocacy and patient service programs.

Baldwin Hills' 3rd Annual Relay For Life is a 24-hour team event that empowers the community to take part in the fight against cancer. Cancer survivors, loved ones who have lost their battle with the disease and caregivers for those fighting cancer will be honored during the luminaries ceremony. Volunteers are needed in every facet of the event, including onsite registration, media relations, entertainment, sponsorship, team recruitment and the luminaries ceremony. The event will be held at Rancho Cienega Park Recreation Center's Jackie Robinson Stadium located at 5001 Rodeo Road, at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, in Los Angeles.
