3partSand with ARK [Perlon/ Karat] & Mat Carter [Fabric/ Varial] @ HUB June 6, 2008

We've been itching to announce all of this for quite some time, so
here goes.... After much deliberation during an enforced break, 3partSand is finally ready to re-launch in June, bigger, better and badder than ever! On Friday 6th June 2008 you're invited to join us in celebrating our return at our new home, HUB in Aldgate East, where we're excited to announce a bit of a double header this time around as we've enlisted the skills of a couple of true greats to help us out on HUB's 17K floodlight, turbo sound system through to a 7am close!

First up, a bit of scoop for us at 3PS, making his first EVER London appearance is ARK of PERLON, KARAT & Circus Co. Seen as perhaps the pioneer of the new experimental/ minimal house style in France over ten years ago with releases on Brif, he's gone on to collaborate with and inspire a multitude of today’s established and rising stars across Europe... and the world! From his origins as guitarist in a number of 80's funk bands, most notably Trankilou, where he hooked up with the legend that is Pepe` Bradock and onto the great Matthew Herbert & LoSoul with their first collaboration, 'Belle Lurette' in '99. The 'Alleluyark' EP series from 2003 reaffirmed as his status as chief protagonist of experimental, groove led house and techno. His 2005 long player on Perlon, 'Caliente' won him critical acclaim, which is furthered by his more recent works together with Cabanne (as Copacabannark), David Taieb (as Shalark) and Mikael Weill (as Les Cerveaux Lents). His cannon of remixes is as long as the channel tunnel, reworking the likes of Stephen Beaupre, Mr. Ozio, Mossa, Salif Keita, Slabb, Krikor, Fym, Archive, Cabanne............ we could go on!

It baffles us as to why he's never played in London, maybe it’s the unpredictability of his energetic and experimental live performances? If so, then all the better as that’s exactly what we want to see and exactly the kind of performance that'll set the party off!

Next up, we've turned to Mat Carter, to once again join us on the turntables. Head of Varial Records, Mat's roots are in Techno/ Electro - breaks, having held down a number of residencies at legendary nights such as Voodoo, Ultimate Base, Universe, Deadbeat Weekender and Tribal Gathering. Nowadays you'll find him regularly at Fabric, Rotation and Stick Le-Brick. His solid delivery of house, techno and electro beats is something not confined only to DJ'ing. He's written and produced a number of quality tracks over the years, not least on the Populus EP on Sprungcartellwachs and the 'Solid Gear/ Venting Steam' numbers on the Firewire series, both of which have regular airings at 3partSand! He's also collaborated with Neville Watson (as Sweat Box), Lee Graves and has also produced couple of tracks with Craig Richards [Tyrant/ Fabric] including a remix of Sieg Uber Die Sonne's 'Hot'. And to round it all off he's a top, top bloke too!

As always, 3partSand's Ash Seaborne and (recovered) Jon Hughes will be in support, filling before and after our special guests with their usual slice of the more techy, low-end sounds.
