The 34th Annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, "The World United Through Dance," takes place June 2-July 1. Festival Artistic Directors Carlos Carvajal and CK Ladzekpo have curated a thrilling line-up featuring 30 veteran Bay Area dance companies performing both ancient and contemporary dances, including ground breaking cross-cultural collaborations and encore performances of some favorite dance pieces from past seasons.

The events of the closing weekend of the Festival take place at the Novellus Theater, part of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The weekend features dances from Hawai'i, India, Japan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Mexico, the Philippines, Spain, and Liberia. Dance companies performing for the last weekend include N Lei Hulu I Ka Wkiu, Abhinaya Dance Company of San Jose and San Jose Taiko, Miriam Gaibova and Abbos Kosimov, Gadung Kasturi, Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Carlos Moreno, LIKHA - Philipino Folk Ensemble, Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco and Diamano Coura West African Dance Company. A Festival benefit with food, wine, music and a silent auction will take place on Saturday, June 30th, from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., and a Flamenco After Party at Thirsty Bear Brewing Company will celebrate the end of the successful 34th Annual Festival season on July 1.
