For our 2nd Thursday Opening on December 11th, Project Basho will host a presentation by photographer, Hitoshi Toyoda.

Hitoshi Toyoda has worked exclusively in the medium of slideshows for the past ten years. His images typically reflect his daily life. Toyoda’s slideshows have been compared to Haiku literature as he visually balances the minutiae of daily life and the larger, unknowable forces that govern life.

Hitoshi Toyoda was born in New York City and grew up in Tokyo. He returned to the United States in 1990. He has presented his work in museums, galleries and public spaces such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Setagaya Art Museum, Taka Ishii Gallery and Anthology Film Archives.

Please join us on December 11th from 7-9pm.
