Europa Congress Center
Budapest, Budapest

Dear Colleagues,

The work of EASO is distributed into North-, Central- and South-European regions. Each region is affected by a high prevalence of obesity, but their historical, economical and social development differs significantly even within the Central-Eastern-European region.

What are the characteristic features of these countries? How do they manage prevention and treatment in different circumstances? What useful knowledge can they share with others? What kind of cooperation can be developed among the national societies? What are the newest results in obesitology? How can we connect to the work of scientific societies of nutrition, physical activity or studying the different co-morbidities? Quo Vadis obesitology in Central-Eastern Europe?

These questions are to be answered on the 2nd Central European Congress on Obesitology (2nd CECON), organised in Budapest between 23-25 September 2009. The venue of the congress is the recently built Aqua-World (www.aqua-world.hu), actually the greatest aqua park in Europe. We expect, that the memory of the 15th European Congress on Obesity held in Budapest in 2007 give you the hope of a new scientific event of high quality, combined with the traditional Hungarian hospitality.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Budapest!
