1824 W. Division Street
Chicago, Illinois

Join Moonshine and Socca restaurants along with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, as they team up to present another crazy rib cook-off and contest on Saturday, September 26th from 12 noon to 6 pm in the Moonshine parking lot (1824 W Division). The 2nd Annual Rib-A-Que Smoke-out will feature up to 16 different Chicago restaurants as well as ambitious amateurs… It’s culinary school vs. momma's family recipe, white table cloth vs. plastic, fine china vs. paper plates. Baby back ribs are the muse, despite not being long for the world…

Last year's Rib-a-Que, the first annual, was a smash success with over 2,000 pounds of ribs, 500 hungry rib lovers and 15 fierce competitors! This year, all discriminating foodies in attendance will again get the opportunity to sample several unique and savory rib recipes and help determine the overall winning ribs along with the event’s star-studded celebrity judges. Chicago’s very own top toque Stephanie Izard of the acclaimed Bravo hit television series “Top Chef,” as well as the Dean of Culinary Arts at Kendall College, Chris Koetke, will fill two of the judge’s seats as they crown the top winners of this fiery competition. Prizes include cash awards, dining gift certificates from Moonshine and Socca and of course, bragging rights! Two confirmed contestants include a student team from Kendall College and a team from Chicago’s very own Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ.

This rib extravaganza will be the perfect way to button-up summertime activities in Chicago. The competing chefs will set up in the Moonshine parking lot as they showcase their barbeque skills featuring several regional BBQ approaches, including the best “fall-off-the-bone-ability.” The event also features smokin’ hot music by Matt Tyner, Chris Gelbuda & Steve Sebby Trio!

You can be certain glasses will be filled, as drink specials range from $4 Jack Daniels Lynchburg Lemonade and Downhome Punch to $4 pints/$12 pitchers on Moonshine beers – all selected and hand-crafted by Moonshine’s internationally renowned Brew Master Rev. Bob Kitrell.

Moonshine and Socca are delighted to be working with event sponsors Wichita Packing Company and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door (advance tickets can be purchased on www.ticketweb.com or by calling Moonshine at 773.862.8686). This event is “Rain or (Moon)Shine!!
