2nd Annual LITweetup to Benefit Island Harvest October 23, 2010

Long Island, NY, October 2010 – LITweetup (www.litweetup.com) has teamed up with Panera Bread (http://www.panerabread.com) to host the second annual food drive to benefit Island Harvest (www.islandharvest.org) - Long Island’s leading hunger relief organization – on Saturday, October 23 from 12 to 4 p.m. During the events, LITweetup organizers will be collecting non-perishable food items, supermarket gift cards, and cash funds to be donated to Island Harvest’s mission to end hunger on Long Island. "We've seen evidence of the power of using social events to affect positive results here on Long Island, most recently with our Social Media Camp that provided free training for many of Long Island's small business owners. On October 23, we're going to have a lot of fun hanging out with friends and at the same time, help feed our neighbors. Last year the “LITweetup Helps” events raised 150 pounds of food, this year we hope to triple that," said Jeff Namnum.
