1882 Adanac
Vancouver, British Columbia

The culmination of the three-day Accordion Noir Festival, our day at the WISE Hall begins at 4 pm with a seven-block accordion parade (weather permitting) from Grandview Park north on Commercial Drive and east up Adanac Street. Arriving 15 minutes later the afternoon is filled with a slate of workshops (accordion repair, songwriting and squeezebox history!) before a 6:30 pm program of international accordion films.

Appetite primed yet? Because we’re just warming up: starting from 8 pm, Halifax’s squeezebox-punk purveyor Story has a few tunes to share, as does the entertainingly acerbic klezmer kingpin Geoff Berner and his comrade-in-arms from the Monsters of Accordion tour, Jason Webley. Leave the leiderhosen at home but bring your dancing shoes!

The evening runs ‘til late; admission is $20 at the door for an all-day pass ($15 in advance from Highlife records) or $15 for the evening concert only. For further information, please see http://bit.ly/ANfest
