The history of the yearly organised Mustelid colloquium has been started in 1982. It has international relevance and interest and a friendly field with a particular importance for students and young scientists, appearing as a golden opportunity to meet with the leading researchers of this interesting, diverse group of carnivores. This meeting also provides an opportunity to foster cooperation between scientists from different countries.
