24th Annual Cape Coral Festival of the Arts January 10, 2009

Cape Coral Festival of the Arts:
• When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
• Where: Cape Coral Parkway, from Del Prado Boulevard west to Vincennes Boulevard.

Road closing: Cape Coral Parkway between Del Prado and Vincennes will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to approximately 11 p.m. Sunday.

Artists, browsers, buyers gather on Cape Coral Parkway

There will be art in abundance to see and to buy at the 24th annual Cape Coral Festival of the Arts Saturday and Sunday.

This year's festival will feature 300 vendors from across the country who will set up shop along Cape Coral Parkway, said Kris Jacobsen, a spokeswoman for the event.

The festival is expected to draw between 80,000 to 100,000 people, she said.

During the festival, Cape Coral Parkway will be closed from Del Prado Boulevard west to Vincennes Boulevard from 7 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Sunday, Jacobsen said.

There will be free street parking.

Jewelry, paintings, sculptures, stained glass and photography will be featured during the festival that runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
