Brilliant violinist Rachel Podger will lead Philharmonia Baroque strings, harpsichord and organ in music written for "virtuosi"- musicians with exceptional skill and ability - in a program designed especially for families with children ages 4 through 12. The concert will feature vibrant concertos for both solo violin and for multiple instruments by Vivaldi, Corelli and others. Ms. Podger and Philharmonia Baroque musicians will share an insider's view of playing their unique original instruments, information about the all-star composers on the program, and historical highlights of the eras in which the composers lived. The audience will be invited to sing or to play along in a grand finale with the Orchestra (the music selection will be posted on Philharmonia Baroque's website). By popular demand, some of the Philharmonia Baroque "virtuosi" will remain after the concert to share their instruments up close with the next generation of musicians and audience members.
