Open to the public only 2 weekends in August, the 3 bedroom home features a kids suite, 7-car garage and tropical landscape.

Before the Idea House team showed up at 16519 SE 326th St., it was just a 5-acre dirt lot. Now, after weeks of preparation, planning and lots of hard work, the fully landscaped property includes a 3-bedroom home and 7-car garage. It will be showcased to the public as the 2008 Idea House -- open for only two weekends in August. The event is free, with a suggested $10 per person donation to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The Floridian-inspired Northwest contemporary conveys a casual and calming atmosphere through its open plan design. A key feature of the home is the children’s suite, which includes bedroom, study and play area. Finishes, cabinetry, technology, and appliances are all state of the art. A dramatic water feature at the entrance, sets the tone for the calming, tropical interior. On the outside, the lighting design blends naturally with tropics-inspired plants to convey old world charm.

Olympic Landscape and Irrigation will be hosting a special Olympic Day on Sunday, August 17th, from 10am – 5pm for visitors to enjoy light refreshments on the outdoor patio and to get advice from their design and install experts. Personal Chef, Miki Klarich of Miki’s will be grilling in the outdoor kitchen from noon until 3pm.

The Idea House team includes: American Design Group, Berkey Supply, Emerald Turfgrass Farms, Olympic Landscape and Irrigation, Signature Custom Homes, and South Sound Magazine.
