The 7th biennial CanAsian International Dance Festival presents three exciting programmes this year, with performances alternating over three days at 7 and 9 pm. In addition to a Toronto premiere by Vancouver’s gifted Wen Wei Dance, and world premieres by the popular Chitralekha Odissi Dance Creations and acclaimed traditional Korean dancer Soojung Kwon, this years' festival will also present encore performances, bringing back pieces that deserve a second look. Festival highlights include the farewell Toronto performance of Denise Fujiwara’s celebrated Sumida River, and a new version of Mind’s Hammer from the Dora-winning “renaissance man” Peter Chin. The CanAsian International Dance Festival runs at Harbourfront Centre’s Enwave Theatre from May 1 to 3. For tickets call 416-973-4000, or for more information visit canasiandancefestival.com.
