With more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement and 10 years in public safety technology, Nick brings a unique perspective and real-world experience to this interactive presentation. Nick started his law enforcement career as a Special Agent in Drug Enforcement in the State of North Carolina, working cases from street-level narcotics investigations to federal task forces targeting organized crime. In addition, Nick worked undercover, was a certified K-9 handler working narcotics interdiction and was heavily involved in assets forfeiture activities on state and federal levels.
Nick served as the Chief Deputy for the Martin County Sherriffs Office and was responsible for the day to day operations of all divisions: 911 Center, Patrol, Investigations, Corrections, Civil, Court Security and Administration. In this role, Nick oversaw several procurements of technology systems that enhanced the day to day operations of the Sheriffs Office. He was also a certified instructor for the NC Department of Justice and instructed on several law enforcement topics.
After departing from active law enforcement, Nick has worked in the public safety technology industry for the last 10 years with several leading technology companies, including his current role as VPof Sales & Marketing with SMART Public Safety Software.
