1st Annual Walk for Fall Prevention September 25, 2010

Sat, Sept 25; Registration: 9:00am, WALK: 10:15am to Noon

Join us for the 1st Annual Walk for Fall Prevention on Sept. 25, 2010 at 500 Ellinwood Way, Pleasant Hill. This two-hour, non-competitive fundraising walk benefits the Fall Prevention Program of Contra Costa County and is open to all ages and abilities. Falls are the leading cause of accidental injury deaths among Contra Costa residents 65 years and older, and the leading cause of unintentional injury hospitalizations for residents of all ages. Warm-up exercises to be held by well known fitness expert, Lorrie Sullenberger. Registration opens at 9:00am; walk begins at 10:15am until 12:00pm. Enjoy coffee, bagels, fruit, yogurt, water and other giveaways by corporate sponsors and booth vendors. Raffle prizes throughout the day and the first 100 to register will receive a free DVD!

The Fall Prevention Program of Contra Costa County strives to reduce preventable injuries, loss of independence, costs and deaths associated with falls among seniors and people with disabilities by raising awareness and developing fall prevention programs.
