October 28: 1st Annual Tannins and Antioxidant Festival and Classes: Wine, Chocolate, Tea ($59/person until Oct 1, 2009 - $69 thereafter)

GiraMondo Wine proudly presents a new experiential concept centered on tannins and antioxidants and what it means for your health. You might have heard of different antioxidants such as Ascorbic Acids (Vitamin C) and Polyphenols –or Tannins - (Resveratrol, Saponins, Cathechins, Guercetin, …).



We will investigate the effects of Antioxidants and Tannins on Bones, Cancer, Cardiovascular system & Heart Diseases, Mental functions and Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, headaches, vision, and skin aging through tasting and learning.



This event has two main components:


  • A festival where you can taste different products high in tannins and antioxidants such as wine, chocolate, and tea. We will taste 10 wines, 5 teas, and 5 chocolates- all high in tannins and antioxidants.


  • For those who sign up early, you may chose one of the following classes where you can learn about the different properties of these products

    • 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm: A special tea class presented by Elise Scott, Chief Leaf at Pearl Fine Teas and one of 23 certified Tea Professional worldwide from the Specialty Tea Institute.

    • 7:15 pm – 7:45pm: My Doctor Told Me: Drink More Red Wine! – the Relationship Between Wine and Health by Laurent Guinand, president of GiraMondo Wine Adventures.

    • 8:00pm – 8:30pm: We have good News if you like Chocolate presented by Sandra Escobar, Chocolatier and Owner of the Cacao Tree who recently introduced her chocolates to President Obama at the White House.
