For nearly two decades, this fascinating film festival, hosted by the James River Film Society, has showcased a variety of major film innovators.

Saturday features a program on experimental films by Mary Beth Reed.

Ms. Reed, who teaches in the VCUarts Cinema program, will present 10 short works in 16mm and digital, including Moon Streams, Moose Mountain, Montessori Sword Fight, and Richmond Study 1 (Travel Advisory), which recently attained special designation by the 2012 Black Maria Festival. Ms. Reed studied with Stan Brakhage at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
