Eighteenth Avenue Family Enrichment Center (EAFEC) is a non-profit organization providing preschool and school-age child care, as well as, community sponsored enrichment activities focused mainly in the North Nashville area. As EAFEC celebrates 75 years in the community, it wants to continue to promote and enrich participation in family, economic, and civic activities that touch the lives of people of all ages.

Noted American author, Alice Walker says, "Every small positive change we can make in ourselves, repays us with confidence in the future." Thats why EAFEC wants to help those within the community and surrounding areas make, at least, a small positive change within themselves by providing them with a big positive event that point them in the right direction.

Our goal is to address issues, such as, physical, mental, financial and spiritual health all Americans face. It is important to us to make the community aware of avenues that are available to make their lives healthier. Prevention and Learning is the key.

Thats why on Saturday, May 16th, 2009, EAFEC will host its 2nd Annual Health Walk & Wellness Fair at Metro Parks: Hadley Community Park. This will be a day filled with a good information and fun.

The 2nd Annual Health Walk & Wellness Fair will:

Increase health awareness by providing health screenings, activities, materials, demonstrations, and information;
Provide financial information via financial institutions and insurance agents;
Motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes;
Teach self-care practices;
Make residents aware of mental, grief, and spiritual guidance in the community and
Establish Extension agents as a source for educational programming in the county.

Eighteenth Avenue Family Enrichment Center is counting on the support of all professionals in the health and wellness community, as well as those that want to be involved in helping a community on the road to a healthier lifestyle. And we are hoping that you will be apart of this important community initiative.

Proceeds from the 2nd Annual Health Walk & Wellness Fair will go to the improvements of EAFEC, such as roof repairs, building renovations, and playground improvements.

Please help us in our attempts to get healthy and provide a secure environment for our children and the community by becoming a sponsor.

Sincerely,

Shantrelle Edmondson
Executive Director
