17th Annual Stratton Faxon Fairfield 5 Kilometer Road Race.

On Saturday, June 23, 2012 Fairfield Road Races will stage its seventeenth annual Fairfield 5K road race.

Added to the popular Fairfield Half Marathon race program in 1995 , the 5K has become a popular family event in its own right. In 2011, the 5K race was moved to Saturday to accommodate the large number of runners who were unable to register for either race the year before. Last year over 1300 runners participated in the 5K on a beautiful summer day at the beach.

On Sunday June 24, 2012, the thirty-second annual Stratton Faxon Fairfield Half Marathon race will take place. Over 6000 runners including international stars and runners from across the country - will converge on Jennings Beach for both the 5K and half marathon.

Hosted by Fairfield Firefighters, the races have become true community events. Several thousand volunteers and spectators will be at Jennings Beach and along the courses to support the runners. Proceeds from the two races support numerous charitable organizations.
