WALTHAM’S ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL IS EXPECTED TO BE AN EPICUREAN DELIGHT

The 17th Annual Waltham International Food and Wine Festival will take place at the Charles River Museum of Industry on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Every year, attendees to the event can taste various dishes from a diverse selection of international cuisine served by some of Waltham’s best restaurants, along with chance to sample some of the world’s finest wines provided by Gordon’s Liquors. A silent auction and raffle will also be held on the evening of the festival, which will give guests the chance to win valuable gifts such as weekend getaways, dining experiences spa experiences, gym memberships, children’s events, birthday celebrations and more. This year’s salient auction highlights include a Cape Cod Getaway, a night on the town including access to a 1931 Packard limousine, cruise on the Charles River and dinner in Boston and more.

The 2009 Annual Food and Wine Festival will feature the culinary talents of Waltham chefs of the Grill at Hobbs Brook, Seventy@3rd, Wings Express, Tizzy’s, Margarita's, the Watch City Brewery, Solea, Bombay Mahal, Tuscan Grill, The Upper Crust, Domenic's, Jake's Dixie Roadhouse, Guanachapi's, Restorante Marcellino and others.

Tickets cost $40 in advance and $45 at the door. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation and donations are welcome. The Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation is located on the scenic banks of the Charles River in the 19th century Boston Manufacturing Company textile mill complex, on the National Register of Historic Places as America’s first factory. The historic site has exhibits that allow visitors to explore the inventions that powered America into the modern-age - steam engines, generators, time pieces, machine tools, bicycles, automobiles, and hundreds of other gizmos.
