In what has become an annual celebration of the Rose Garden, the Maplewood Neighborhood Association and the City of Rochester will host the 2005 Maplewood Rose Festival on Saturday, June 18, and Sunday, June 19, at the historic Maplewood Rose Garden, Driving Park and Lake Ave., home to more than 300 rose varieties and over 5,000 blooms.
The volunteer-led festival was recognized internationally in 2002 as an outstanding example of citizen involvement, and contributed to the City of Rochester?s "Community Involvement" Award presented in Stuttgart, Germany by the prestigious international competition, Nations in Bloom, which recognizes the most livable communities throughout the world.
