Shake your bunny tail down to San Diego’s hoppiest Easter event, the Easter Bonnet Parade & Hat Contest! Start off this bunny-fest with our creative Hat-Making Workshop with help from nationally renowned Millinery Instructor and Hat Designer, Diana Cavagnaro. Leave the sparkles back at the burrow because we will be providing all the supplies including hats, beads, feathers, glitter and exciting materials to help inspire you and bring out your winning talent. Once you are done with your masterpiece hop on over to the main stage and find your age group for the hat judging contest and parade. No Easter celebration would be complete without an Egg Hunt! Children 2-12 years old will search the Park for over 6,000 eggs filled with M&M’s. Top off your egg-tra special day with participating fun and educational activities. Visit various San Diego Museum exhibits, Sea World’s educators answering questions about marine life, learn about childhood safety by Officer Mark Gregg, from San Diego’s own Highway Patrol and much more. Experience live entertainment and dance performances all day long. Advance admission for this Easter Event is $5 for children and $10 for adults; day of admission is $6 for children and $12 for adults. Proceeds from the event will benefit the UCSD Medical Center Hillcrest, Hematology/Oncology Department of Pediatrics Research. This unique department is working on treatments that will help children and adolescents who have leukemia, solid tumors such as neuroblastoma (the most common childhood cancer), and other forms of cancers, as well as blood disorders such as hemophilia, sickle cell disease, thalssemia and other chronic anemia’s.
