Dear Head Nurse and PAM Colleagues

The 12th Congress of the European Burns Association (EBA) will be held from 12th – 15th September 2007 in Budapest, Hungary. The PAM (Professions Allied to Medicine) Committee of the EBA, represents the group of nonmedical professions working in burn care (e.g. – nurses, physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Dieticians and Play Specialists). The PAM Committee aims to promote the exchange of ideas and sharing knowledge between professions throughout Europe.

The Congress will have a multidisciplinary focus and its central theme will be: “A painful paradox: technical breakthrough and financial restraints”

There will be specific sessions on PAM related topics (e.g., nursing, psychosocial, therapies, etc.). PAM prizes will be awarded to the 3 best oral paper presentations and the two best poster presentations at the Congress. The prizes are aimed at encouraging PAM’s working in the field of burn care to present scientific papers, and recognising those PAM’s who have made outstanding contributions to burn care.

There will be the opportunity to have the best paper published in the Journal of Burn Care.

During the congress there will also be a PAM Business Meeting. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the work of the committee, and to elect new members to the committee. All PAM Professionals are welcome.

Reduced registration fees for the congress will be available for PAM professionals.
