For 10 years, the Newberry Library Center for Renaissance Studies Cervantes Symposium has provided leading scholars from throughout the United States a forum to share and discuss emerging research in Cervantes studies. Anne J. Cruz, PhD, professor of Early Modern Spanish Literature & Culture and Gender Studies at the University of Miami, was instrumental in organizing the first symposium in 2001, and the Instituto Cervantes is proud to welcome her as keynote speaker for this 10th anniversary year.

Dr. Cruz’s talk concludes the symposium, which begins that morning at the Newberry Library. For the complete symposium schedule, please visit www.newberry.org/renaissance/seminars/cervantes.html. The Cervantes Symposium is sponsored by DePaul University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Miami University, the Newberry Library Center for Renaissance Studies, and the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, and organized by Darcy Donahue of Miami University.
