10th annual DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING ART AFFAIR @ Art Works! November 23, 2012

Starting the day after Thanksgiving and continuing through the New Year, we have plans for celebrations, exhibits and over the top parties. To kick things off on November 23rd, we’ll hold our 10th annual DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING ART AFFAIR where we feature handmade gifts for $50 and below by Richmond artisans, door prizes, kids activities and refreshments. Then at 7 p.m. we’ll celebrate 4th Friday in Manchester with 6 new art shows and a reception. Free and open to the public.

Open everyday (except Mondays) we’ll provide a great place to buy art (like pottery, jewelry, paintings, glass, prints and even photography) – something for everyone on your holiday list. Free and open to the public.

To wrap things up for 2012, on December 31st we’re holding with our 2nd annual Drop the Ball @ Art Works, A New Years Eve Party for the Arts – a fundraiser for the arts. They’ll be a band, libations, dinner buffet and an art raffle – everyone can take home some art for the New Year! By tickets online – check out our website: www.artworksrichmond.com for details.

DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING ART AFFAIR DETAILS:

We open at noon with the “Fabulous Fifty and Below Gifts” in the main gallery. Ten Artisans will be displaying and selling unique and innovative artwork and gifts – all $50 or less. This event is a welcomed alternative to the Black Friday crowds elsewhere in town. Guests can browse, shop and enjoy hot apple cider, cookies and other holiday goodies.

The children can make some holiday crafts for their own personal gift giving, while parents browse and shop. There will be door prizes and a raffle of an original piece of artwork.

At 7:00 p.m. the reception for the new art exhibits begins with more music, a juried talk and awards presentation for the ALL MEDIA ART SHOW. The juror is Frederick Chiriboga.
