100th Anniversary Party and Ice Cream Social August 25, 2009

Beat the heat with an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social at the Sacramento Hostel, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the worldwide hostelling movement.

Enjoy free ice cream from Leatherby's Family Creamery, and groove to the jazzy sounds of the Alegria Quartet. A dedication ceremony honoring former mayor Heather Fargo starts at 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m., take a tour of the beautiful Gold Rush-era building on historic Merchant Row, known to historians as the Llewellyn Williams Mansion.
