BROOKLYN, NY – February 8th – 9th - Brooklyn-based choreographers Kelly Bartnik and Gina Kohler come together to present blue – a shared evening showcasing two newly developed dance works, featuring performances by Claire Benton, Donna Costello, Nicki Marshall and Sara Procopio.
Inspired by the music of Toshi Reagon, Bartnik's new work is a visual representation of the vivid imagery invoked by Reagon's lush musicality and deep spirited emotion. In collaboration with costume designer Kristin Machado and set designer Jack Blacketer, Kelly's new work, performed by Donna Costello, Gina Kohler & Nicki Marshall, invites the audience to traverse a landscape inhabited by three women, bound to a singular common location, as they embark on their personal journeys of self-reflection.
