Zingaris, a critically acclaimed non-profit dance production company
presents "Taal" - Rhythms of Indian Cinema.
From the very first silent movie of yesteryears to the glamorous
blockbusters of today, Bollywood and its captivating dance styles
have come a long way.
Through "Taal", Zingaris presents this rich tradition of Bollywood
through a myriad of dances including bharatnatyam, fusion,
Afro-Brazilian salsa, hip hop, jazz and folk, in addition to the ever
popular "filmy" dances.
This collage of foot-tapping numbers from Indian movies, cutting
across multiple dance styles and eras, and reinterpreted by our
talented choreographers in creative ways will forward the theme of
this glamour filled night.
Come, join us for an exciting evening and let Zingaris recreate
onstage, the magic that is Bollywood.

Zingaris is a critically acclaimed, multicultural dance group of over
100 members, mainly Bay Area professionals. It was founded in 2001,
and has performed extensively since then. Over the past 4 years,
Zingaris has had six highly successful sold-out shows raising over
$30,000 for charity.
