Somewhere in the parade of shiny and sincere hopefuls, yogi-predators, meditating control-freaks, and freedom-lovers, there's a girl yearning to find the right one. Can she do it? ZEN Boyfriends is a hilarious comedy that traverses the razor's edge where spirituality and love coincide...or don't. Be warned! Zen Boyfriends might hit close to home... as near as the hallways of CIIS! For its origins date back to 1991 when a young girl moved to California, enrolled at CIIS, and quickly learned the hard way how confused we can become in the name of enlightenment.

Mariana Caplan, PhD, began her formal studies of yoga and meditation in India in 1994. She is the author of seven books on psychology, spirituality, and yoga, including the forthcoming Eyes Wide Open: Cultivating Discernment on the Spiritual Path and Halfway Up the Mountain: the Error of Premature Claims to Enlightenment. She has a private practice in somatic-based counseling and teaches transpersonal, yogic, and body-based psychologies at The California Institute of Integral Studies.
