Zap Mama is an collective of avant garde musicians featuring African-Belgian artist, Marie Daulne. Daulne combines music from her African and European roots along with jazz, hip hop and R&B. Her eclectic sound evolved from an a cappella group with syncopated undulations of African vocal melodies to employing instruments to create a jazz-influenced soul group. Her more recent work continues to incorporate the energetic harmonies of African pop music while creating a bridge to R&B. Zap Mama has collaborated with prominent hip hop musicians including, Erykah Badu, ?uestlove of The Roots, Talib Kweli and Common. www.zapmama.be
